Overall, this is a nice stadium that is slowly but surely beginning to show it's age. Almost just like getting your hand stamped, really but they must have been having issues with fans sneaking into the club area. Not that concession lines are long here causing fans to miss the game but it would be nice if they offered that service for fans for as much as we're asked to pay for club tickets.Īnother thing I don't like is how they make fans grab a re-entry pass before leaving the club area. The only perk they need to add is waiter service for club ticket holders. DO not underestimate the importance of having indoor club access because I've been to plenty of Dolphin games in past seasons where the temperatures are in the high 80s/low 90s and it feels good to get indoors and cool off while grabbing a beer and checking out other games on the tvs. All of the extra amenities are given to club season ticket holders so if you're not a season ticket holder, you're out of luck. Really, the only benefits club ticket holders get is the wide padded seats and indoor club access. I've had them for Marlins games too back when baseball was played here (don't miss those days). … About 15 minutes north of the stadium in Hollywood you’ll find the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, where there are a generous assortment of clubs and bars to choose from, and of course the casino to donate your money to.The club seats at Sun Life don't offer as good of a view as they COULD because they aren't atop a 2nd seating tier but rather, they sit behind the 100 level seats. … For a classic Cuban joint, detour to Versailles in Miami, and it’s open late. … World-famous South Beach is about 20 minutes away with its trendy restaurants and clubs, and is worth a visit just for the people-watching. There are beaches and water sports galore, and top-notch shopping and dining, so no one will be bored. … There may not be much surrounding the stadium itself, but this is Miami, so the post-game options are unlimited.

Wash it down with one of their mojitos for the full Cuban experience. … When hunger and thirst set in, bypass the ballpark staples and Budweiser, and seek out the Cuban sandwich at The Carvery stands. They are sort of like the Lakers Girls but dressed in teal and black.

… Also hard to miss are the Marlins Mermaids, the first rally team in baseball, who dance on the dugouts between innings. A giant rectangular banner in left-field commemorates the 19 titles.

… The Marlins, don’t forget, have some history here, too, having captured two World Series championships in their brief existence. Notice the Dolphins Ring of Honor that circles the upper deck façade with names of football greats. This place has hosted Super Bowls, Orange Bowls, the 2009 BCS national title, and the Dolphins. … Once inside the stadium, soak up some of its rich and storied history.

Fire up the grill and play some catch (plenty of room), but don’t forget the tent or tarp to shade you from the Florida sun. Start your visit in the parking lots surrounding the stadium and join the small but dedicated group of fans who tailgate before games. Tickets are easy to come by, there are no lines for beer or food or bathrooms, and the Marlins often feature good young talent. Makes a pilgrimage sound enticing, doesn’t it? … Well, it should, or at least it shouldn’t scare you away. The Marlins play in a football stadium in a remote spot in north Miami, and the orange seats badly outnumber the actual fans at most games.
